A beginner’s guide to growing your own organic food: soil building, composting and planting. The course will be held in a Daylesford garden that is based on Permaculture principles. Relocalise your food: grow your own organic fruit, vegetables and herbs. For the frugal at heart. Please bring along your lunch and all weather gear.

Jewish Cooking for Beginners

Pruning or Rubbing Off

Learn about pruning fruit trees, vines and berries. The workshop will cover theory and practical pruning with a demonstration in between. If it’s too late in the season to prune, we will look at rubbing off, which saves a lot of pruning. Bring your lunch, secateurs and wear sturdy shoes.

Find out what’s growing right here under your feet and discuss the culinary and medicinal uses for them. Get tips on where to look to find them all year round and which ones to avoid.

Traditional Sri Lankan Cooking

Come along to this friendly and relaxed cooking class and learn how to add herbs and spices to your cooking to bring out a traditional Sri Lankan flavour. You will learn how to cook a 3 course Sri Lankan meal consisting of an entrée, main meal and dessert. Ingredients and lunch provided.
