Join Jane and explore several local bushland areas, look at and identify local grasses, pea plants, sundews, daises, orchids and trees. A beautiful time of year to enjoy nature's bountiful display. Bring along a water bottle and wear weather appropriate clothing.

Woven in Time

Learn an old/new ecologically sustainable craft in this eco-friendly basketry workshop. Use traditional techniques and natural fibres to create your own beautiful and functional basket. Explore the principles and ethics of permaculture and make a natural woven basket to take home. Jill is a natural fibre Basket Maker, Permaculture Design Consultant and a passionate teacher of traditional crafts. Class notes are included but please bring along an apron, old towel, secateurs, scissors, strong thread (linen if available), large-eyed needles,
colourful threads and other embellishments and some lunch.

Edible Wild Plants Walk

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the back streets, lanes and gardens of Creswick in search of edible wild plants. You might be surprised to discover edible and tasty plants growing right under your feet that in the past you have destroyed or ignored. Discuss the culinary and medicinal uses of a variety of wild plants or weeds and get tips on where to look to find them all year round as well as learning about which ones to avoid. Once you've collected a variety of wild plants enjoy a demonstration and tasting of how these plants can be used in your kitchen.
