An all-abilities group who work together to create and develop food and herb gardens and gardens for pleasure. Learn about different types of plants and get creative in the garden. The course includes life skills components and the group will also prepare and enjoy a shared lunch using purchased and grown ingredients.

Worm Farming
Find out just how easy it is to start your own worm farm at home. A healthy worm farm can really benefit your ability to have a plentiful garden. Worm farms are a great way to turn your leftover kitchen scraps into a rich fertiliser even if you live on a small block or in a flat.

Pruning Vines, Berries & Fruit Trees
Do I need to prune? How and when? This introductory workshop will cover theory and practical pruning and includes an informative demonstration. Bring your lunch, tools and gloves and wear sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing.

Use a range of nutritious ingredients to cook tasty food for yourself or your family for very low cost. An experienced chef will guide you through what to buy and how to prepare and store cost efficient meals that taste fabulous.

Community Vegetable & Herb Garden Group
Explore food gardens including propagation, companion planting, worm farming and more in this friendly group for people of all ages and levels of gardening experience. Bring along some lunch and work as hard or as little as you please. The garden around the Centre is developing into a lovely area to sit, have lunch or get your hands dirty working the soil. Water tanks are full, compost is breaking down and the worms are hungry. So come along and join in - no need to register, see you there.
